šŸ“ļø Position Summary

As a Parent Partner in Visalia, California, you’ll work as part of a team with youth partners, family social workers, field-based clinicians, and program managers to round out the holistic care treatment for youth and families. 

 

šŸ” Key Responsibilities

Client Care

  • You’ll be the parent’s advocate who will help families gain the skills and tools needed to be independent, confident parents. 
  • Helping with budgeting or establishing house rules
  • providing support during court proceedings, IEPs or family meetings. 
  • At times when you have resistant parents, you’ll use your relationship, shared life experience, and interpersonal skills to gain their engagement and commitment.

Documentation & Communication

  • Communicate effectively with treatment team members, supervisors, and client families.
  • Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

āœ… Qualifications

  • At least four years of real-life experience as a parent or primary caregiver and have successfully navigated mental health, probation, child welfare, special education or regional center services for your child
  • high school diploma or GED
  • Meets all state-required employment conditions, including: DOJ fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health physical, Valid CA Driver’s License, acceptable driving record, and proof of insurance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension).
  • Ability to work independently while seeking guidance when necessary.
  • Strong writing and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and standard office software.
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries with clients and staff.

  • Field Based position, requiring travel to meet with clients in their homes or community/school setting
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, Full-time, flexible shifts including evenings.
