šŸ“ Position Summary

The Family & Community Liaison (FCL) for the Aspiranet First 5 Center is responsible for building and strengthening relationships with families and community stakeholders and for increasing center participants, with special emphasis on African American/ caregivers with children 0-5 years.

The Community Resource Specialist will provide engagement, case management, and facilitation of classes, workshops, events, etc. The CRS interfaces with center attendees to provide information regarding community resources and, when indicated, provides referrals, linkages, and warm handoffs to needed services.

 

šŸ” Key Responsibilities

Family and Community Liaison

  • Recruit and engage families in Center services through building and strengthening relationships with community partners.  Identify potential referral sources (community partners) in the center’s catchment area.
  • Develop new and maintain existing family referral sources; provide on-site initial contact with potential participants, when indicated.
  • Provide information about Center programming and referral process to collaborative community partners.
  • Hold events, workshops, and open houses at the Center as a means to increase enrollment.
  • Distribute marketing materials, class in a bag, center calendars etc. to community partners.
  • Provide on-site intake at referral agencies as required.
  • Participate in outreach events and represent the Aspiranet First 5 Center at community fairs and other events.
  • Develop, evaluate, and revise the Family & Community Liaison plan.
  • Work with Center staff to see that new enrollments were appropriate for center services.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and responsiveness to cultural differences, maintaining a perspective of cultural humility in all transactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Community Resource Specialist

  • Assess Center participant’s needs for additional community resources
  • Conduct ASQs
  • Connect families with available community resources
  • Provide workshops and parenting classes.
  • Facilitate events and community provider workshops
  • Educate all Center participants of available community resources
  • Initiate and support parent support groups
  • Participate in and conduct program related trainings.

 

āœ… Qualifications

Education and Work Experience 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a BA in a related field or a minimum of 3 years experience in the field of early childhood development.
  • Supervised or served as lead for direct care staff, preferred
  • Experience working with parents of children 0-5
  • Knowledge of Community Resources
  • Provide Training to parents and or staff
  • Experience in serving as liaison to resources in the community
  • Strong engagement and relational skills
  • Preferred experience providing evidence based curriculum
  • Experience working in a family resource center, First 5 Center, child development, or preschool setting
  • Served as liaison for a program with the community
  • Conducted community outreach
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing home-based and or center based services ideally with the 0-5 year old and their families.  Ideally, experience working with other community agencies.
  • Oral and written proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office: Excel; Word, Power Point; Outlook; SharePoint, Internet Explorer and experience with Customer Relationship Management Software a plus.
  • Meets all state required conditions of employment as set forth by Community Care Licensing for a Licensed Community Care facility; i.e. Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health Physical, valid CDL, and clean driving record.
