Aspiranet is seeking a compassionate and community-focused Parent Partner to join our team in Santa Cruz, CA. This position supports families connected to our Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) and Residential programs, serving youth members who need a safe, structured environment during times of crisis and transition.

As a Parent Partner, you will help strengthen family engagement, provide coaching and support, and connect caregivers to services that promote stability, healing, and long-term success for youth and families.

🏠 About the Program (CSU & Residential Services)

Aspiranet’s Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) and Residential programs provide a safe, supportive, and highly structured environment for youth members experiencing behavioral health crises or needing short-term stabilization and intensive support.

These programs focus on helping youth regain stability, strengthen coping skills, and transition toward a more sustainable level of care while partnering closely with families and caregivers as part of the youth’s overall support system.

 

📝 Position Summary

The Parent Partner provides home-based case management and support services to families. Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, this role provides regular support through home visits, coaching, training, referrals, and linkages to services primarily in the family’s home or community. The Parent Partner also completes required documentation and participates in program meetings.

This role plays an important part in supporting family engagement and continuity of care for youth connected to the CSU and Residential program environment.

 

🔍 Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in or complete a needs assessment and support plan for assigned families.
  • Coach, train, and support families toward self-sufficiency.
  • Assist families in strengthening parenting, communication, and life skills.
  • Support parents in becoming their own advocates.
  • Provide resources, referrals, and linkages to services in the community.
  • Maintain strong communication with team members and others supporting the family.
  • Attend scheduled supervision and team meetings prepared to discuss family progress.
  • Complete required documentation and administrative paperwork on time.
  • Provide supervisor/team with a weekly schedule.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in accordance with agency and legal standards.
  • Demonstrate cultural competency and represent Aspiranet professionally at all times.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of experience working with families and children.
  • Knowledge of local community resources.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
  • Meets all state-required conditions of employment (fingerprint clearance, Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health Physical, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record).
  • Meets compliance requirements of federal, state, and county regulations through periodic sanction checks.
