Your Impact

The Child Care Aide is responsible for the care and supervision of children at the First 5 Center while parent/caregivers are participating in Center classes or workshops.  Major responsibilities include providing supervision of children, engaging children in age appropriate activities, providing children snacks, greeting parents/caregivers at drop-off & pick-up times, and preparing and keeping  clean the child watch area.

Your Skills and Duties

  • Provide and supervision to children whose parent or caregivers are participating in Center classes or workshops.
  • Engages children in child watch in age appropriate activities.
  • Prepares and provides snacks to children, when indicated.
  • Prepares and cleans Child Watch area before and after sessions.
  • Greets parents/caregivers at pick-up and drop off times.
  • Completes required paperwork.
  • Attends required meetings and trainings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Work Experience 

  • High School Diploma with one (1) year experience working with children/youth in a similar service.
  • Bilingual Spanish; proficient in both English and Spanish.
  • Meets all state required conditions of employment as set forth by Community Care Licensing for a Licensed Community Care facility; i.e. Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health Physical, valid CDL and clean driving record, proof of auto insurance.
