Your Impact

The principal will provide leadership, direction, and oversight of daily school operations. This individual will serve as the instructional leader and be responsible for supporting academic success.  The principals will also work collaboratively with the authorizing district, governing Board, teachers, staff, parents and the broader community to ensure that the school’s vision and mission are upheld. 

 

Your Skills and Duties

 

  • Leadership & Management:

 

      • Provide overall leadership for the school, ensuring alignment with the mission, vision, and strategic goals.
      • Supervise and evaluate school staff
      • Establish and maintain a safe, trauma-informed, positive, and inclusive school culture.

 

  • Instructional Leadership:

 

      • Lead the development and implementation of an academic program that meets the identified and changing needs of students.
      • Monitor performance data and oversee the implementation of interventions which support students and staff in meeting identified goals. 
      • Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure effective teaching practices are employed and aligned with state and charter school standards.

 

  • Curriculum & Assessment:

 

      • Ensure the school’s curriculum is aligned with state standards and charter school regulations.
      • Implement systems to continuously evaluate student outcomes.

 

  • Community Engagement:

 

    • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, community members, and local organizations to support student learning and school activities.
    • Organize and lead parent and community meetings to foster school involvement and communication.
    • Engage with charter authorizers and school boards to ensure compliance and transparency.

 

 

  • Operational Oversight:

 

      • Oversee daily school operations, including student attendance, school discipline, and overall school safety.
      • Develop and manage the budget and resources effectively, ensuring that the school’s financial and operational goals are met.
      • Develop and implement policies and procedures in accordance with state, federal, and charter school guidelines.

 

  • Professional Development:

 

      • Identify, seek and support professional development opportunities for staff.

 

  • Compliance & Reporting:

 

    • Ensure the school is compliant with all local, state, and federal laws, including those specific to charter schools.
    • Prepare and submit reports to the school board, charter authorizers, and other educational partners as required

 

Education & Work Experience

Minimum

  1. Master’s Degree in Education or related field and three (3) years of classroom experience.
  2. Administrative Services Credential and (2) years administrative experience.
  3. Valid California driver’s license.
  4. Meets all state required conditions of employment as set forth by Community Care Licensing for a licensed Community Care Facility; i.e. Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index Clearance, TB/Health Physical, valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record (Motor Vehicle Report)
  5. Experience in a Charter School setting is highly desirable.
  6. Strong knowledge of California state education standards, charter school laws and best practices in education.

Physical Activities

  1. Must be able to handle or manipulate objects, tools, and operate controls.
  2. Must be able to reach for stacked products, store and retrieve file boxes on high shelves.
  3. Must be able to push, pull, lift and/or carry as much as 10 lbs.
  4. Must have the ability and skill to drive a vehicle.
