Your Impact

The Senior Human Resources Director is a member of the senior leadership team, reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer. Responsibilities include ensuring that all human resources and payroll functions and policies and practices are legally compliant, align with the agency’s strategic plan, and support a distributed workforce with best in class customer service. Will be responsible for the direct supervision of assigned staff.

Your Skills and Duties

  • Implements strategic initiatives that advance the organization's mission and goals.
  • Ensures that all polices and practices are legally compliant and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Implements, optimizes and streamlines HR systems, tools and resources.
  • Provides guidance and prompt closure on complex employee relations situations.
  • Builds and nurtures effective and consultative relationships at all levels to become a trusted partner and coach throughout the agency.
  • Honors and exemplifies Aspiranet’s organizational values; helps create an organizational culture centered on inclusion, diversity, equity, and access.
  • Supervises assigned team members.
  • Supports HR program budget and board reporting.
  • Travels to agency sites to build relationships and support a distributed workforce.
  • Hybrid schedule out of South San Francisco office with two days onsite per week. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources, psychology, or a related field, Master’s degree or senior professional certification highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and practice application of California, federal and local employment laws, rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in system conversions, employee relations and total rewards.
  • Five years of senior human resources leadership and supervisory experience, preferably within non-profit human services sector with up to 1,000 employees.
  •  Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations cases, including conducting fact-finding investigations, and mitigating employment risk.  
  • Ability to establish, analyze and leverage HR and people metrics to support strategic decision making.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills, including presenting to senior leaders and executives.
  • Proficient computer skills including human resources and payroll technology, Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint and presentation software.
  • A hands-on leader, willing to lead and execute the work required.
  • Meets all state required conditions of employment as set forth by Community Care Licensing i.e. Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health Physical, valid CDL, insurance, acceptable driving record and vehicle for business travel.
