Your Impact

The Human Resources (HR) Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to the HR Department in delivering programs, services, and activities in support of the entire employee “life cycle”.   Areas of support and responsibilities include onboarding and new hire processing, HR system data entry, filing and management of employee records, and other related duties and project.  

Your Skills and Duties

Essential Duties:

  • Supports new hires and managers with the completion of applicant packets and new hire orientation process and documents.
  • Provides guidance to new hires with completing all background clearance processes; tracks and follows up as necessary.
  • Collects, reviews, and manages documents required to process Licensed Independent Contract Professionals (LIP, interns, and volunteers).
  • Performs data entry of new hire data
  • Tracks, files, and archives documents in the HR system and HR Intranet site.
  • Completes and updates the I-9 binder.
  • Monitors access to employee information to safeguards the security and integrity of employee records.
  • Maintains the SharePoint SHPT and COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker.
  • Responds to employment verifications.  
  • Scans, faxes, and makes copies of documents as requested.
  • Runs reports from HR system or SharePoint site as needed.
  • Processes and distributes HR department mail and faxes.
  • Assists with department projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Work Experience

  • AA degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint or Content Management System desired.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to self-direct.
  • Ability to present a professional demeanor and to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Meets all state required conditions of employment as set forth by Community Care Licensing for a Licensed Community Care facility, i.e., Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health Physical, valid CDL, and clean driving record.

  • Ability to handle or manipulate objects, materials, tools, and operate controls.
  • Ability to reach for stacked products, store and retrieve file boxes on high shelves.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift and/or carry as much as 25 lbs.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position and work on a computer for up to 40 hours per week.

Compensation: $21-$23 DOE
