Your Impact

The Visitation Specialist is responsible for supervising visits and in coordinating visitation schedule of the center.  Major responsibilities include coordinating maintenance of the site, supervising visits, monitoring site activities during business hours, when indicated  coordinating  intake and screenings, scheduling visitation plans, assisting  families in completing and signing visitation contracts, developing safety plans, obtaining court documents and county social worker visit expectations. In concert with Core Program Manager, the Visitation Specialist is responsible for coordinating the schedule of visitation staff.  The Visitation Specialist is responsible for communicating visitation schedule to all parties including Center Visitation.  In the absence of the CPM, oversees the Center.

Your Skills and Duties

  • Conduct intakes and orientations when indicated.
  • Coordinate receipt, review and record maintenance for each case.
  • Assign cases to center visitation staff.
  • Develop safety plans as needed. 
  • Supervise visits.
  • Monitor site activities and assist when indicated.
  • Provide resources and referrals to families, as needed
  • Work in coordination with County and community providers develop and communicate visitation schedule.
  •  Supervise visits of non-custodial family members of court dependent minors. This includes monitoring and, if necessary, intervening with the parent or child who demonstrated inappropriate physical or verbal behaviors.
  • Maintain communication with relevant parties regarding cases.
  • Immediately inform CPM of any center incidents and complete draft of all incident reports. 
  • When required, attend court proceedings to testify on observations during supervised visits. 
  • Immediately inform CPM of problems or concerns regarding to the program.
  • In the absence of the Core Program Manager, oversee the Center.
  • Work with all stakeholders in a collaborative manner to best meet the needs of the client.
  • Attend in weekly supervision with Program Manager..
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, and trainings.
  • Complete required written documentation within stated time frame.
  • Complete own administrative paper work (time sheets, mileage, time off requests, flex fund requests, etc.).
  • Maintain positive, open communication with staff, families, community agencies
  • Maintain client and case confidentiality per agency standards.
  • Represent agency in a professional manner, support and model Aspiranet’s values, and abide by the agency’s Professional Code of Ethics.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, sensitivity, and responsiveness to cultural differences.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with staff, youth, caretakers and
  • community partners.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are required in both English and Spanish

Education and Work Experience 

  • BA or BS degree in psychology or a related field
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in related field.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Meets all state required conditions of employment; i.e. Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health Physical. Valid CDL and clean driving record.
