Your Impact

The Family Developer is responsible for recruiting, assessing, training, and approving specialized resource families which provide Intensive Foster Care Services (ISFC).   In addition, the Family Developer identifies community groups, delivers presentations with the goal of identifying potential resource families, and supports resource family applicants through the approval and training processes.

We work in partnership with our families by providing ongoing support, training and monitoring until children are able to reunify with their families. When returning home is not an option, we partner with children and families to develop a plan for life long connections that may include adoption. Your Skills and Duties

  • Develops and implements a community outreach plan for the purpose of increasing awareness and interest in becoming a resource parent.
  • Engages with resource families throughout the approval process, for the purpose of establishing a working relationship and providing direct support throughout the approval process.
  • Meets with the Core Program Director (CPD) to report progress, resolve identified barriers and formalize plans to support qualified families in moving forward in the approval process. 
  • Completes the home study for specialized ISFC families utilizing the Structured Analysis Family Evaluation (SAFE) methodology.
  • Provides ISFC training and training schedules to ISFC families.
  • Monitors ISFC Resource Family training to ensure timely completion of required hours.
  • Provides reports to Core Program Director which measure progress towards strategic goals.
  • Completes administrative paperwork (time sheets, mileage, time off requests, & other expense reimbursements, weekly schedule, etc.).
  • Maintains client and case confidentiality per state, federal, licensing and agency standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned. 

Education & Work Experience

  • MSW or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or related field is required.
  • Knowledge of and experience working in foster care and experience writing home studies desired.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Proficient computer skills including:  Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, SharePoint, Internet browsers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all clients, including groups in the community.
  • Flexibility to multi-task and prioritize in order to meet task deadlines.
  • Meets all state required conditions of employment as set forth by Community Care Licensing for a Licensed Community Care Facility. i.e.  Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index Clearance, TB/Health Physical, valid CDL and clean driving record.
