Your Impact
The Contra Costa County Monument First 5 Center, located in the California Bay Area city of Concord and under the management of Aspiranet.org, has an employment opening for the position of Center Director. The Monument First 5 Center is a centrally located family resource center that provides developmental assessments, classes, workshops and events free of cost to the families with children age 0-5 residing in Central Contra Costa County. This is a full-time exempt position that requires Saturday hours and evening hours as needed. The position requires management experience in child development, education/early childhood education, psychology, social work or related field. Fluency in oral and written English is required and Fluency in oral and written Spanish is preferred.
The Center Director is a leadership position in a public service environment and is best suited for an individual with work experience in early childhood development. Position requires strong leadership and strong management skills, communication and networking skills. The Center Director must have a working knowledge of early childhood development and knowledge of attachment, bonding, parent child relationship and demonstrated experience in curriculum development. Strong managerial skills are required and experience in collaboration across programs and agencies is required. The position will provide an individual interested in the early childhood development field an opportunity to influence the quality of services provided to families with very young children in the Monument Community and larger Central Contra Costa County community. The Center Director promotes 0-5 prevention/early intervention and supports Central County families to access community based services and receive regular developmental screenings.
The Center Director (Core Program Supervisor II (CPS II) is responsible for oversight of direct care staff and the provision of quality services according to funder and regulatory policies and procedures. Major responsibilities include supervision of staff, coordination of services, adherence to program design, working knowledge of operating budget, placement of volunteers (if indicated), program level liaison and promotion of services. CPS II is responsible for upholding and supervising to the Agency’s operational, financial, personnel and practice rules, policies and procedures.
