Position Title: Core Program Coordinator

External Description:

As an Aspiranet Senior Child Care Worker in Concord, California, you’ll provide direct care to children and youth and oversight and leadership to other Child Care Workers (either between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday or 3 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday) of children in a receiving center setting. You will be the senior staff member which provides vital services to youth and children who have experienced trauma. If you want to care for children and youth and provide leadership to entry level child care workers in a fast-paced, 72-hour setting, the Senior Child Care Worker position is for you.  This is the ideal position for someone looking for extra income or a stay-at-home parent seeking to reenter the workforce.

YOUR OPPORTUNITY The Senior Child Care Worker provides calm and mature level of leadership that helps children and youth entering Aspiranet’s receiving center in Contra Costa County find a comfortable place to relax and be cared for. You will oversee the intake and discharge of youth and children from the center, as well as serve as liaison with outside agencies such as county staff, nurses and law enforcement. Your success as a Senior Child Care Worker will depend on your ability to care and comfort children and youth, as well as your ability to lead fellow child care workers. Unlike group home settings, the receiving center is a place youth stay for just a brief time.  Care is focused on creating a respite for children and youth.

YOUR GROWTH Aspiranet supports your success at each step. You will lead your team but not be responsible for hiring or evaluating staff.  This position is an ideal introduction to leading others as well as allowing you to interact with children and youth from a wide range of ages and backgrounds. You can build your experience interfacing with county staff, community partners and oversee as well as teach others how to provide care and support to children.  There is plenty of room for advancement, both in Contra Costa County and, because Aspiranet is a statewide organization, throughout California.

YOUR REWARDS Aspiranet offers a competitive salary and an exceptional team-based environment. Aspiranet provides you with the opportunity to work around your family’s schedule while making an important difference in your community.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS If you have a minimum of 12 ECE units and 2 years of experience or 2 years of experience plus additional child care experience equivalent to 12 ECE units, apply right now. Paid, volunteer and personal experience count towards the experience requirements.  Aspiranet wants to help you develop your passion for caring for children.
